  John G. Luptak, 94, of Five Points, died on Friday, July 4, 2008 at the Richland Hospital.  He was born in Cicero, Ill. on March 28, 1914, the son of John and Mary (Packo) Luptak.  John's first job was delivering telegrams for Western Union.  He clearly remembers the $2 tip he received for delivering a telegram to Al Capone.  John was united in marriage with Claudia Fanta (daughter of James V. Fanta, formerly of Hillsboro) on Sept. 2, 1939, in Chicago.  They realized their dream of owning and operating a dairy farm in Wisconsin, and farmed in the Hub City and Five Points areas for many years.  John also worked for a time at Milk Specialties in Boscobel.  Claudia preceded him in death on May 22, 2006.  John loved being with his family and loved caring for his farm cats.
  Survivors include his three daughters:  Janice Wiser of Blue River; Mary Johnson of Richland Center; Carol (Tom) Stedman of Salem, Oregon nine grandchildren: Christoper and Robert Wiser, Theresa (Mike) Fields, Eve (Clark) Roberts, Jackie Stedman, Norman Jorgensen, Michael Jorgensen, Kari Stedman (friend Adam), Thomas Stedman, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
  John was further preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, five brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law, and two sons-in-law:  Don Johnson and Ardith Wiser, and one great-grandson.
  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at the Pratt Memorial Chapel.  Father Rob Butz officiated and burial was in the Tavera cemetery.  Friends called at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 8, from 6 until 8 p.m. or on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 11 a.m.  The Pratt Funeral Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.  Online condolences are available at prattfuneralservice.com 1-888-303-3910.
