Preceded in death by her husband, Frank Steele (Jan. 18, 1919 - July 7, 1998; two brothers, Harold and Glenn Helton; one sister, Norma Helton; and one grandson, Ernie Steele, Jr. (Dec. 11, 1973 - May 5, 1983).
Member of Candle Ridge Baptist Church; avid volunteer at Chapel House, Friendship House and Corbin Senior Citizens Group
Previously worked at RCA in Cincinnati, Ohio; Elicon of Corbin, Kentucky; local restaurants and retired as a Tupperware Sales Manager
Survivors: two sons, Jackie Steele, Jr. and his wife, Joyce of London, Kentucky, and Ernie Steele and his wife, Lynn of Ashland, Kentucky; one brother, James Helton of Jackson, Kentucky; four sisters, Peggy Hutton of Gray, Kentucky, Myrna Elliott of Cincinnati, Betty Medlin of Gray and Bonnie Engle of Gray; twelve grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, relatives and loved ones.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 1, at Corbin Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Knox County, Kentucky.
