Leo served as a Private First Class, 5th Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.

He resided in Rochester, Strafford County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Leo was "Killed In Action" on Iwo Jima during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Leo was originally interred in the 5th Marine Cemetery on Iwo Jima and was later repatriated here on April 8, 1948.
