He was the pediatrics consultant for Head Start in the late 1960s and was named ''Boss of the Year'' in 1975 by the America Business Women's Association chapter.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Bardoner and Rose Glorioso; and brother, Michael Cicerrella.
∼Joseph A. Cicerrella M.D., 87, died on Tuesday 9/6/2005. He was born in Lorain Ohio on 7/25/1918. He lived most of his life in the city of Lorain Ohio and moved to Rocky River, Ohio, in retirement.
Dr. Cicerrella practiced pediatrics in Lorain County, Ohio, for 40 years. He was a dedicated physician, and he was dearly beloved by patients, parents, and staff alike. He retired as a pediatrician in December 1984. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Dr. Cicerrella was a longtime member of the Lorain Kiwanis Club. Dr. Cicerrella started the first Kiwanis scholarship, a scholarship now bearing his name, earmarked for high-school seniors.

Cicerrella of Ashland Oregon, and Robert A. Cicerrella of Nantucket Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Bardoner and Rose Glorioso; and brother, Michael Cicerrella.
Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Brendan Church, 4242 Brendan Lane, North Olmsted, Ohio. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio. Funeral arrangements were handled by McGorray Brothers Funeral Home, Westlake Ohio.
Memorial contributions could be made to the Lorain Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund or New Life Hospice, 5255 North Abbe Road, Elyria Ohio.
