RODERFIELD — James (Jimmy) Edward Muncy, 59, of Roderfield, W.Va., died amongst family members on June 2, 2008, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Muncy was born August 30, 1948 in Welch, W.Va., a son of the late John and Nellie Green Muncy.
He was a retired underground Foreman/Electrician with Consol Coal Company of Buchanan, Va. He was a member of the Harman's Branch Church of God at Harman's Branch near Iaeger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his paternal grandparents, his father- in-law, and one brother-in-law.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Estep Muncy of Roderfield; one daughter, Angela Davis and husband Bill of Roderfield; one son, James Dewayne Muncy of the home; four sisters, Sharon Belcher of Roderfield, Faye King and husband Howard of Drennen, W.Va., Rebecca Blevins of Berkley Springs, Lydia Belcher of Belcher Mountain; two brothers, John David Muncy of Rockwell, N.C. and Mark Muncy of Welch, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Christopher, Hope, and Ethan Davis all of Roderfield; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends at the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger.
Funeral services will be conducted with Pastor John Green officiating.
Burial will follow in the Muncy Cemetery on Coon Branch Mountain near Iaeger.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger is assisting the Muncy family.
