Son of Ace Jefferson and Rebecca(Skelton)Payne.
Husband of Grace Mildred York Payne.
He was a farmer he was retired from the Franklin County Road Department. He was of the Baptist faith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include his daughter, Frances Murphy, Carnesville and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Minnie Thomason, Winnie Bryant, Thera "Tate" Martin and Ana Owens and brothers, Robert Payne, Ace Payne and Tom Payne.
