Richard A. Watts, Who Came to Utah by Ox Team, Passes to Beyond.
Richard A. Watts, resident of Utah since 1866, died yesterday of old age at his family residence, 1330 McClellan avenue. He was born November 27, 1831.
Mr. Watts was one of the pioneer bakers of Utah, but has not worked for the past twenty years. He was born in England and took up the occupation of baker, becoming in time head baker of Trinity college, England. In 1866 he arrived in Salt Lake by ox team with his wife and children and followed his old occupation, being one of the first professional bakers in the city. He married Eliza Pratt in England, and later Miss Louise Bamberger, now his widow. He leaves the following children: Louis R. Edward J., Richard F. George C., Marie, Ralph and Arthur Watts. Mrs. George Morris, Mrs. Robert Porcher, Thomas and Linford Watts. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the family residence.
