This was my great grandfather. He was a Master Mariner. He is buried here with his 2d family. My great grandmother died young in 1893 in Quincy, he remarried in 1896.

Joseph immigrated from Nova Scotia on May 20 1870 at the age of 17, on the Schooner Sarah out of Pictou NS.

He died while an inmate (patient) at Danvers State Hospital

The birthdate on his stone (1865) is incorrect, according to his naturalization form his DOB was March 25 1853 & the Canadian Census of 1871 shows him living in Havre Boucher in NS and being 18 years of age.
