Ryland Milner, 89, Maryville, died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Parkdale Manor Care Center, Maryville.
Born September 24, 1909, in Glen Cove, Texas, to John and Olivia Pope Milner, he had been the athletic director and a coach at Northwest Missouri State University, before retiring.
He married Luretta Ethel Gooden, December 26, 1934, in Maryville.
A resident of Maryville since 1937, Mr. Milner was a 1929 graduate of Classen High School, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwest Missouri State University and a Master's degree from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He participated in a Good-Will campaign for military service in 1945. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Maryville.
He was preceded in death by his Wife; a son, James Ryland Milner; parents; seven brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include a son, Tim Milner of Estherville, Iowa; two granddaughters; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday, June 18, at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at Price Funeral Home or at Northwest Missouri State University, with the Rev. Robert Ceperley officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Parnell.
