Nancy Doughty was the wife of Joseph Doughty (1755-1815) who died in Pendleton District, SC. Nancy moved to the Tuscaloosa, AL area with her sons Joseph and Jeremiah Doughty around 1820. Her oldest son Daniel was poisoned by his wife and father-in-law in 1805 in Pendleton District. Nancy had three daughters: Sarah who married James Kilpatrick, Rhoda who married John Clayton_both families settling in Pickens County, AL and Nancy who married James T. Barrett settling in Tuscaloosa County.
