LAMAR COUNTY ECHO Thu., Dec. 27, 1984. 'Homer L. Nowell, Rt. 1, Paris, died at Canterbury Villa Sunday, Dec. 23, at 2:45 a.m. Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Nowell was born april 9, 1910, in Paris, a son of Bailey Nowell and Gertrude Varner Nowell. He attended Paris schools and married Miss Nettie Vickers on July 19, 1929. They lived in the Emberson community for 50 years until September 1984 when they moved to Paris. He was a member of Westwood Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Gentry of Paris; three sons, Billy Wayne Nowell of Paris; Edward Nowell of Brookston and James Nowell of Waterford, CT.; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. A. J. McCaskill of Paris, Mrs. Lillie Mae Abney of Paris and Mrs. Mildred Mims of Arizona'.
