Rev. Abner G. Miller, 99, of Landis Homes, Lititz, PA, formerly of Elizabethtown, entered into the presence of his Lord, his Messiah Jesus, on June 30, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Betty F. Keener Miller. Born in Conoy Twp., Abner was the son of the late Martin Z. and Rosa Mae Good Miller.

In addition to farming, Rev. Miller served pastorates in PA and Maryland, and helped to found several new churches in the Lancaster area. He traveled to churches throughout the U.S. and Canada in response to invitations to preach which continued after his retirement from the Holly Grove Mennonite Church in 1975. Abner especially labored to advance Christian-Jewish relations through his teaching and leading tour groups to Israel. He sang in men's choir and quartet in his early years in addition to teaching Sunday school. He enjoyed studying the Bible, preaching, reading and was a member of Living Hope Community Church, Lancaster.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Arley K. (Shirley H.) Miller, Camp Hill, and Phyllis E. (John A.) Sauder, Lancaster; two grandchildren, Maribeth Sauder and J. Michael (Susan F.) Sauder; two great grandchildren, Elijah P. and Joy E. Sauder. A son, Kenneth K. Miller, a brother, Paul M. Miller, and a sister, Elsie Keener, preceded Rev. Miller in death.

Friends may call on Friday evening, July 11, from 6-8 P.M. at the EAST Bethany Chapel of Landis Homes. For those attending the viewing, please bring a seed to place in the casket as a representation of his "seed sowing ministry" which will be celebrated in Abner's Memorial Service.
