Mary Nisely, the daughter of Geo. W. and Sarah Ann Nisely, was born in Knox county (sic), Illinois, January 17, 1857, and departed this life on May 16, 1929, at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was the third of a family of ten children -- two brothers, Tom Nisely of LaCygne, Kansas, and John of Newcastle, Wyoming, preceded her in death.

Her girlhood days were spent near Roseville, Ills., until she was married to Mrs. J.W. Thayer on January 19, 1879, at Roseville, Ills. To this union were born seven children, three sons and four daughters: Geo. D. Frank, Mrs. Dura Williams and Edith Williams of Nora, Nebr.; Arthur of Superior; and Blanche Thayer of Omaha; Mrs. E.A. Jones who departed this life on March 29th, 1925.

They resided on a farm near Roseville, Ills., until the year 1884, when they moved to Nuckolls county (sic) onto a farm near Nora, Nebr. They moved into Nora in the year 1921, where they have since made their home.

Deceased leaves to mourn her departure, besides the children, five brothers: Home Nisely of Greenridge, Manitoba, Canada, Geo. and Albert of Beatrice, Charlie of Roseville, Ills., Jerome of Edgar, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Kilpatrick of Redlands, California, and Mrs. Kate Staat of Monmouth, Ills.; as well as fourteen grand children and a host of loyal friends.

Our departed sister at the age of fourteen years united with the Christian church of Roseville, Ills., during the ministry of Rev. Leak, and she remained steadfast inthe (sic) faith during her entire life.

The funeral was held from the Christian church at Nora Sunday afternoon at two-thirty o'clock, with Rev. L.W. Myers of eNlson (sic) officiating.

We wish to thank our neighbors and friends who so graciously helped us in so many ways in the hour of our bereavement; especially the singers for the music rendered and the donors of beautiful flowers. J.W. Thayer and aFmily (sic).
