In 1910- "Ernest" worked in a local General store, but primarily was a farmer.
After the death of his wife in 1924, Ernest needed someone to take care of the house and kids. He found a widow to do so, with kids of her own. As it didn't look right for two adults of the opposite sex to live together- they agreed to get married in 1925. Her kids kept primarily to the upper half of the house and the McCoskeys' to the lower. Less than 1 year later, Ernest would die of an appendicitis which was not uncommon for the times and treatment. His 2nd wife would end up with the family belongings.
