ATHENS - Marjorie H. Henning, 88, of Athens died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at Villa Health Care East in Sherman. She was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Camp Point, the daughter of Everett and Bessie Booth Stabler. She married William Emory Henning in in Evanston; he died in 1997. A son, Robert Henning also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hening graduated from Camp Point Maywood High School in 1935 and attended the Universit of Illinois. She worked at Pittsburgh Pint Glass Co. and Marshall Field's, both in Chicago. She assisted her husband at Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens. She was a member of Athens United Methodist Church; Martha Class of the church; Athens Women's Club, serving as secretary for many years; Athens Pinochle Club for more than 50 years and National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Menard County. She was past president of Athens United Methodist Women for many years.
