He was the son of Dr. Heman Harwood Robinson (1814-72) and Helen Jane Purdie (1818-64). Heman is buried at the Oakdale
Cemetery in Wilmington, NC and Helen Jane Purdie Robinson is buried next to Thomas on these grounds. Thomas A. Robinson was the great-great grandson of Capt. Samuel Robinson (1707-67), founder of Bennington, VT.
