Molly M. Myers, 88, known to many people as Nanny, passed away Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the James River Convalescent Center.

A native of Virginia, Molly was a graduate of Newport News High School and a longtime Newport News resident. Because of her love for children, she worked as a school bus driver and then later in the cafeteria for Hampton City schools. She also worked many years at Thompson Ford before deciding to retire.

She was devoted to her family and the Lord, and her kind spirit and loving heart touched all who knew her.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Laurance A. Myers, Molly is survived by her daughter, Sally M. Currin; sons, Thom Myers and Larry Myers; sister, Ora Lee Aist; brother-in-law, Buster Garrison; grandchildren, Tammy Rich, Bryan Myers and John Myers; great-grandchildren, Taylor Cooke and Phineas Myers; as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Bethany United Methodist Church by the Rev. Arthur Rajanayakam, with the burial taking place privately in Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at Peninsula Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to give a special thank you for the loving care given by all the staff at James River Convalescent Center.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Peninsula Funeral Home, Newport News.
