A native of Parnell, he was a lifelong resident of that community and was a retired farmer.
Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Crystal Herndon, of the home; three sons, Paul E. Herndon, Parnell; Dean Herndon, LeGrand, Iowa, and Donald Herndon, Independence; two daughters, Mrs. Luvon Rangitsch, Port Orchard, Washington, and Mrs. Janice Garrett, Cameron; one brother, C. O. Herndon, Parnell; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Orth, Minot N. D.; Mrs. Gladys Scadden, Maryville, and Mrs. Hazel Welty, Wheatland, Wyoming; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday at the Prugh Dunfee Funeral Chapel, Grant City, with the Rev. Bill Hammond officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Parnell.
