Mrs. Mary E. Brough Farrell, 77, wife of James Farrell, this city, died at 9am today (Sept 17, 1953) in the Madill Nursing Home where she had been a patient the past several weeks.
Born in Morristown Mar 13, 1876, Mrs. Farrell was the daughter of the late William and Jane L. Carlisle Brough. She was educated in the Morristown schools and was married Nov 9, 1896 at Ogdensburg to James Farrell.
Mrs. Farrell was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral and was a former member of the Scotch Bush Grange. Until eight years ago when they moved to the city, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell owned and operated a farm in the vicinity of Galilee.
Surviving her death, besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Gurzney, North Syracuse; two son, John W. Farrell, City, and Robert Farrell, Lovejoy Road. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several cousins.
