Edith Clare Jané Seamen, 90, of Pascagoula, Miss. passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Gautier, Miss. Mrs. Seamen was born Oct. 14, 1917, to the late Edmond and Frances Jané in Pascagoula. She worked as a secretary for 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Seamen. They were married for 40 years prior to his death in 1977.

She is survived by eight children and their spouses, Fran and Dan Weiner of Pensacola, Fla., Elizabeth Stutzman of Clearwater, Fla., Harold and Pattie Seamen of Pascagoula, Darlene and Fred Robertson of Pascagoula, Connie and Ed Dunston of Gautier, Edie and Jimmy Lockhart of Helena, Miss., Ed and Sandy Seamen of Centreville, Md., and Charles and Kim Seamen of Fort Worth, Texas; a sister, Sally Jané Birdsong of Covington, La.; 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 30, 2008, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Charles E. McMahon SSJ officiating.

Interment will follow services at Jackson County Memorial Park, Pascagoula, MS.

Pallbearers will be John Seamen, Kenneth Odom, Scott Dunston, Sean Dunston, Josh Lockhart and Fred Robertson, Jr.
