Funeral services were held for Hattie Emma Grimes at the Baptist Church in Flynn Dec. 6, 1958 at 2:00 PM. She was born July 3, 1873 and died December 5, 1958. She was 85 years old and a member of the Baptist church since a young girl. She was married to James M. Grimes and to this union four children were born all of whom are deceased. She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Arnie Burns of Rising Star, Mrs. Evie Morgan of Houston, Mrs. Lela Murry of San Antonio and one brother Dawson A. Grimes of Houston. Three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many other relatives. Officiating at the funeral services were Rev. Dick Winn, Rev. Dewey Hines and Rev. Elton Ryan. Interment was in the Clear Creek Cemetery with Davis Cozart in charge of funeral arrangements. Pallbearers were: R.G. Grimes, Edwin Grimes, M.Z. Newsom, Rain Rogers, Emmitt Rodgers and Terrell Rodgers.
