Eldest son of Willis Clevenger Sr. and Elizabeth J Cochran Clevenger of Lacona, Iowa.
Member of Co. A., 48th Battalion, Iowa Infantry. He died at the Soldiers and Sailors Home at Bath, N.Y. His father was also a Civil War Veteran.
Survived by his wife; three sons and one daughter by a previous marriage; his mother; two brothers; two sisters. His children were Mr. Willis F. Clevenger of Krum, Texas; Mrs. Louise Wilford of Dalhart, Texas, Mr. Jesse Clevenger of Napa, Cal, and Mr. William F. B. Clevenger of Norwalk, Iowa.
He was laid to rest in the Richardson family burial lot.
