ATHENS - Mrs. Linda Voyles Lord, 59, died Monday, December 4, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Lord was born June 10, 1941, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of Mettie Harbin Voyles, Jefferson, and the late Clarence Voyles.
Mrs. Lord was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 7, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Revs. Dennis Kesler and Larry Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Lord is survived by her husband, Dewitt Johnson, Athens; one son, Johnny Highfill, Watkinsville; two daughters, Patti Lord, Decatur, and Kathy Weeks, Athens; one sister, Virginia Veal, Lawrenceville; one brother, Irey Voyles, Kentucky; and four grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family is at the residence of Mrs. Mettie Voyles, 60 Borders Street, Jefferson.
Evans Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
