DOROTHY (DOLLY) MAE KURTZ, 84

Dorothy (Dolly) Mae Kurtz, 84, long-time Laclede resident, died on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, in Sandpoint, Idaho
_Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19th at Coffelt's Moon Chapel with the Rev. Walt Campbell from the New Testament church of Newport, Wash., officiating. Interment will be held at Seneacquoteen Cemetery.
_Dolly was born on March 5, 1917, in Laclede, the daughter of Harrison (Stub) and Clarinda Thomas. She grew up and attended schools in Laclede and graduated from Priest River High School.
_She married Harry Kurtz on June 1, 1938 in Sandpoint. They made their home in Laclede and had four children. In 1958 they began operating the Husky gas station in Laclede. Harry died in November 1963 and Dolly continued to operate the Station until 1968, at which time the station closed. She donated the property where the Laclede Community church now stands.
_Dolly then went to work for Sandpoint Super Drug in Sandpoint until her retirement. She was a member of the Laclede Community Church and active in the Laclede Ladies Club. She enjoyed playing cards and knitting things for here family.
_Dolly is survived by three children; a son, Frank Kurtz, of Rathdrum, Idaho; two daughters, Patsy (Dan) Moore,of Laclede, Kathy (Jim) Judd, of Lewiston, Idaho; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
_Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison "Stub" and Clarinda Thomas; a daughter, Jackie Brooks' and brother Sonny Thomas and two sister, Bonnie Burns and Margie Glazier.
