Henry Lamberton, an old & respected citizen of Day Co., died at his home, Monday, Dec 19th 1898 after an illness of nearly a year of paralysis.

He was born in Batavia, NY., Nov 24, 1818. He settled in Niles, MI., Berrian Co., in 1837, afterwards in Cass Co., where he was united in marriage to Luanna Kirk, June 10, 1837 by which they gave birth to six children, four boys & two girls. His wife died in 1850. Two yrs afterwards he was married to Lucinda Kemp on Feb 29, 1852 whom he now leaves together with 10 children, six boys & four girls to morn his sad departure. He lived in Cass Co., Michigan until he came to Dakota in 1883 & settled in Homer twp, Day Co., where he lived until his death. He was 80 yrs, three weeks & four days old.

On the day of the funeral it was learned that officiating clergyman, Rev. N.J. Aplin was born in the same town of the deceased & lived on the same street of his uncle John Lamberton fourteen yrs. John died 1855; him, his wife & family are buried in Batavia, New York.

A large concourse followed the remains to his resting place on Hillside Cemetery.

Henry Lamberton is my 2nd gr grandfather.
