James H. Sallans, 74, of RR 2, Kitchener, died suddenly Wednesday at his home after suffering a heart attack.

Born near Denby, he was the last member of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Sallans. He lived near Kitchener for 32 years and was a blacksmith for many years. He was a member of the Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church.

Mr. Sallans was predeceased by his first wife, the former Alice Wilson.

Surviving are his second wife, the former Lucy Rosenblath, whom he married in 1924 at Denby; four sons, Simon of Pelevn, Ont.; Harvey, RR 3, Bright, Michael, RR 2, Kitchener, and Willard of Preston; four daughters, Mrs. Dora Knarr of New Dundee, Mrs. Peter (Audrey) Cober of Kitchener, Mrs. Wilbert (Annie Mae) Cober, RR 2, Petersburg, and Mrs. Kenneth (Marjorie) Hill of Wainfleet.

There are 25 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

The body is at his residence until Saturday noon when it will be removed to the Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church for service at 3 p.m. Rev. James Sider will offichte. Burial will be in Rosebank Cemetery.
