TULSA, Okla. — Luther "L.B." McBryde, 82, of Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Pine Bluff, died Saturday.

He was born July 11, 1924, at Palmyra, Ark., a son of the late Luther H. McBryde and Mattie Hill McBryde.

He was reared and received his early education at Glendale, Ark., and graduated from Glendale High School.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

He worked as an owner/operator for McBryde Downtown Exxon for 36 years and retired in 1989.

He was a member of Olive Street Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was also a 50-year member of the Civitan Club.

Survivors include his wife, Fredine McBryde, whom he married on June 15, 1946, at Woodlawn, Ark.; two sons, Dr. Gary McBryde of Tulsa and Danny McBryde of Marion, Ark.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Herbert McBryde, Arthur Lee McBryde, Harold McBryde and J.B. McBryde; and one sister, Pearl Chambers.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors at Pine Bluff with the Rev. Roger Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery at Pine Bluff.
