Mary Grace Schoen was born February 16, 10114, in Sheridan County, Nebraska to Emil and Anna Schoen, and died suddenly at her home on March 3, 1977 at the age of 63 years.
At a young age she moved to Minnesota where she graduated from Brainerd High School in 1931. She then moved to Hay Springs, Nebraska, where she worked until her marriage to Harold Adkinson September 7, 1938, at Gordon, Nebraska. All of their married life was spent near Springview, engaged in farming and ranching.
She was a devoted wife and mother and took particular pride in homemaking. Her grandchildren will remember her fondly for her generosity of time and special remembrances. Entertaining for relatives and friends in her home was a special joy as well as attending the many social activities in the community. She will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband Harold; son Dale of Gordon; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Glenda) Gurney, Houston, TX and Betty, Springview; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Dorshorst, Hay Springs, NE, Mrs. Louise Maxe, Brainerd, MN, and Mrs. Les (Velma) Aspinall, Lodgepole, NE; a brother Emil Schoen, Hay Springs, and other relatives.
