Roy Ellsworth Whitaker, 73, died on June 15, 2003 in Pleasant Plain. He was born on August 24, 1929 in Madeira, the son of Paul Arthur and Mildred Eva (Books) Whitaker. He married Shirley Kite. She preceded him in death. Also, he was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Rickie Lee Whitaker; brothers, Edgar Whitaker, Howard Whitaker, and Charles Whitaker; and his sister, Marion Bruner. He is survived by his daughter, Jo Ann Lanham; and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home in Goshen. Interment will be in Graceland Memorial Gardens in Goshen.
