Wade Hampton Griffin, Sr., prominent Wiregrass business man and a resident of Dothan for the past 35 years, died at his home, 506 South Dusy Street this morning. He was fifty-five.

He was president of the Wiregrass Grocery Company of Dothan, an officer of the First Presbyterian Church and a Mason for 25 years.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred London; two sons, Wade H. Griffin, Jr., Dothan and S-Sgt Yancey Bailey Griffin, U.S. Army, Korea; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Clark, Eufaula and Mrs. W.J. Cullifer, Columbus, Ga.; four brothers, Homer Griffin, Haleburg, Joe Griffin, Graceville, Fla., and Bud and Charlie Griffin, both of Malvera; a granddaughter, Jo Ellen London.

The body will lie in state from 12 noon to two p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted by the pastor, the Rev. J. Norton Dendy, and Ward Wilson has charge of arrangements.
