Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mary Ellen Allred Christensen, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 23, 2008 in her home in Richfield surrounded by her family. Mary fought a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born October 13, 1937 in Marysvale, Utah to Heber Leroy & Lucy Sophia Howes Allred. Mary had five sisters and two brothers who lived their small town life to the fullest. She married Douglas DeWayne Christensen, January 12, 1957 in New Brunswick, NJ. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple on July 10, 1996.

Doug & Mary raised three precious daughters and one wonderful son in Richfield. Those children gave them five grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Mary also had four great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with.
Mary worked a few different jobs throughout the years including 22 years at the Richfield Care Center and the past two years at Curves, where she made some special friends. Doug & Mary spent many hours riding their ATV's and spending time in the hills. She enjoyed taking her trailer to the mountains and camping with her family. Mary was happiest when she was in the hills surrounded by trees and wild flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Doug Christensen Sr.; children: Carol (Bruce) McIntosh, Sevier; Norma (Wayne) Washburn, Richfield; Sandy (Bart) Aaron, Eagle Mountain; Doug "Fud" (Carol) Christensen, Glenwood; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Veon Syddall, Monroe; Shirley Torgerson, Fredonia, AZ; Novella Farnsworth, Salt Lake.

Preceded in death by: parents; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, there is an account set up in Mary's name at Wells Fargo Bank. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 26, 2008 in the Richfield 8th Ward Chapel (800 N 500 E). Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
