Mrs. Berniece G. Gale of 230 Pine Road died yesterday at Fairview Hospital following a short illness. Born in Missouri, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grover, she was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College, now Northern Iowa University. Mrs. Gale later lived in Ohio and moved to Springfield in 1953 and East Otis in 1972. She was active in the Otis Congregational Church and belonged to its Women's Guild, the Senior Citizens of East Otis and the Order of Eastern Star in Springfield. She leaves her husband, William F. Gale; a son, Kenneth E. Leech of Hyannis; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Minkley of Blanford and Mrs. Joan Smith of Agawam; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be tomorrow at 10 at Healey-Pease Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Westfield Burial will be in Hill crest Park Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Donations in Mrs. Gale's memory may be made to the Steeple fund of the Congregational Church.
