Obituary in the Galveston Leader - 14 Oct 1903: Died -- At his home six miles west of Macy, John Lambert aged 50 years and 13 days. The funeral services were conducted at the Galveston U. B. Church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, by Rev O.F,. Landis. Burial in Sprinkle cemetery. Mr. Lambert was formerly a resident of this vicinity, and made friends of all who knew him by his sterling qualities. He was honest and upright in all his dealings with his neighbors and possessed a great love for his home and family. He leaves a wife and children to morn his loss. The Burial services were conducted by the red man of which order he was a member.
