Russell Sanborn Doe is the son of Jacob and Sarah Thurstin (Jones) Doe of Rumney.

Russell Sanborn Doe was born Apr. 5, 1807 in Doe Town Hill, Rumney, NH. He resided in Cambridge, Mass. Russell married 1st, Nov. 4, 1832, Eliza Fogg of Massachusetts, who was born at Cambridge, January 28, 1801, and died June 8, 1843. He married 2d., Dec. 10, 1843, Lucretia Perkins, who d. May 4, 1880. Russell died at Meredith, N. H., Dec. 14, 1897, in his 91st year. He was held in high esteem and affection by the townspeople, and his life was a long and useful one, characterized by uprightness in all things. He resided at Oak Hill Farm in Meredith, after 1839. His death occurred at Medford,Mass., March 29,1872, and his body was taken to Meredith, N. H., for burial.

He and Eliza had one child, Eliza Jane who was born August 20, 1833. She married William C. Burleson of Boston, Mass., a native of Berkshire, Vt. She died March 8, 1911. > The Descendants of Nicholas Doe, p55.
