Pfc. Bryan M. Thomas of Lake Charles, Louisiana graduated from Lake Charles Boston High School where he was on the track team. He was active in the United States Army and he told his mother that he was serving in Kuwait so as not to worry her. He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Zula Mae Bryant; paternal grandmother, Alzetta Jacobs; and nephew Braden Riggs. He leaves behind his 13 month old daughter and three siblings, Donovan, Nateisha and Kortney. Bryan died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered in Salman Pak, Iraq, when his patrol encountered small arms fire during combat operations at age 22.
