Robert served as a Technical Sergeant and Radio Operator on B-25J #43-27719, 428th Bomber Squadron, 310th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on February 1, 1943 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Machinist's apprentice and also as Single, with dependents.

Robert was "Killed In Action" in Italy during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in Italy and was later repatriated here on March 9, 1949.

Service # 31266509

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldier's were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
