The children are buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles, Missouri. Everallyn Rose Smith was originally buried in Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, but after her brother, Charles Shaler, Jr., died in 1879, Charles Shaler Smith, Sr., bought a plot in the Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Charles for his son and had his daughter moved there. Their plot is next to the plot with the Oak Grove cemetery bridge monument was erected in 1871 to commemorate the bridge workers killed in an accident on November 11, 1870. Smith was the designer, chief engineer, and president of the St. Charles Bridge Company that built the bridge, and he had the monument put there.

Charles Shaler Smith, Sr., was originally buried in Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, but he was later removed and buried in Summerville Cemetery in Augusta, Georgia, on March 16, 1903.
