DEATH OF MRS. JOHN FRANKLIN COFFIN

A Sister of W. C. Stewart Passes Away Near Greenfield

Mrs. John Franklin Coffin died Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at her home near Greenfield [in Blue River township], after a long illness of dropsy and heart trouble. The physicians also suspected some other disease and held a postmortem examination to-day to determine what it was. Mrs. Coffin's maiden name was Mary Aleveda Stewart, and she was a sister of W. C. Stewart, of this city, and A. M. and J. H. Stewart, of Darlington. She was born near Darlington December 13, 1845, and was married March 18, 1883, to John Franklin Coffin after having followed the profession of a music teacher for over ten years. The funeral will occur at Darlington probably on Monday, and the interment will be at the Odd Fellows' cemetery.
