William, son of Thomas W. and Jemima (Scutt) Clark, married Elizabeth "Betsy" Niday on 07 Mar 1818 in Giles Co., VA. They had approximately sixteen children.

While aiding a family during the cholera epidemic of 1849, became a victim and died about fours later.

He and Elizabeth(Nida) had sons: John, Jeptha, Jacob, William and Noah who all five served in the Civil War; all came home safely.
