Joseph H. Acklen, Jr. died last night at the home of his parents, in West End Park, aged 7 years. He had been ill some time previous to his death and while the end was not unexpected, the blow is a severe one to the bereaved parents. Mr. and Mrs. Acklen have the sympathy of many friends. Prayers will be said at the residence this afternoon and the interment will take place at Mt. Olivet.

Little Joseph Jr. was originally interred inside the Acklen vault which accounts for why the niche where his father is buried appears to be incorrectly inscribed with the "Jr." added. Young Joseph and three of his siblings were removed from the vault on April 25, 1963 and reinterred in the grounds of the Acklen lot.
