Spc. Jeremy M. Heines of New Orleans, Louisiana was a 1998 graduate of Redeemer Seton High School. He was a parishioner of St. Henry's Catholic Church and a Third Degree member of De La Salle Council No. 3411 Knights of Columbus. Jeremy joined the army after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, and married a fellow soldier at Fort Hood, Texas. They celebrated their first anniversary in Baghdad. Jeremy was nicknamed "Ketchup". He was known for going out of his way to cheer people up, whether it was sneaking food to Iraqi children or helping a friend through war-induced depression. Jeremy died in Baghdad, Iraq, when his patrol came under attack by rocket propelled grenades and small arms fire. He was 25.
