EFFIE A. LAMBERT ADKINS, 102, of Hamlin, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Dec. 11, 2002. She died at Lincoln Continuous Care Center, Hamlin. She was the widow of Tom A. Adkins and daughter of John W. and Martha R.A. Stowers Lambert. She also was preceded by six brothers, Albert, George, Rufus, Kinsey, John and Charles Lambert; three sisters, Rose Lambert, Nellie Skeens and Beulah Rickman. Also preceding her in death were two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Halcolm and Shirley A. Adkins and Daniel M. and Phyllis M. Adkins, and a son-in-law, Charley Napier Sr. She is survived by a daughter, Helen F. Adkins Napier; three grandsons, Charles J. Napier Jr. of Hamlin, W.Va., Dan M. Adkins Jr. of West Chester, Ohio, and Thomas A. Adkins of Amherstdale, W.Va.; two granddaughters and spouses, J. Gail and Steve Brozek of Orange Park, Fla., and Eileen G. and David May of Amherstdale, W.Va.; great-grandchildren Jason Brozek of Orange Park, Fla., and Nicole Quintana of Jacksonville, Fla., Andrea Adkins of Cincinnati, Ohio, Collin and Madeline Adkins of West Chester, Ohio, Benjamin and Rachel May of Amherstdale, W.Va.; and great-great-grandsons Ben and Cody May. Mrs. Adkins was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a former member of Becco United Baptist Church. She was a school teacher in Lincoln County. She and her husband owned and operated Adkins Grocery at Robinette, W.Va., She and her husband Tom founded the Freewill Baptist Church at Latrobe, W.Va., now the Freewill Baptist Church at Crites, W.Va. Mrs. Adkins was solely responsible for the bridge being built at Browning Addition that crosses Buffalo Creek to Route 16 at Robinette, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Koontz Funeral Home with the Rev. Russell Adkins officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2002, at the funeral home. Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, is in charge of arrangements.
