Enlisted at Winchester, Virginia in July 1776.

Served in Capt Abraham Sheherd's Company, Col Rawling's Regiment.

He was taken prisoner at Fort Washington, Nov 1776, after 9 weeks released.

Joined wagon services under Jacob Hillismer and Biddle, 4 months.

Returned to his father's home at Redstone Settlement, Pennsylvania and served four campaigns against Indians.

Proof: Pension record pension allowed 1820, while a resident of Washington County, Indiana
