He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Wilson Burdette and Pearl Craddock Burdette; and sisters, Dorothy Sunderland, Helen McCallister and Betty Jo Allen Johnson.
He was a Baptist by faith and a devoted Christian. He was a retired truck dispatcher from Union Carbide; many of the people who he worked with called him "Bo Peep." He loved his family very much and cared deeply for them.
Bud leaves to cherish his memory: a daughter and son-in-law, Drema and Daniel Pauley of Hurricane; a grandsons, James "Mike" Adkins and his wife, Courtney, of Statesville, N.C., Charles "Chuck" Adkins of Kinston, N.C., and Christopher Pauley of Hurricane; granddaughter, Chelsea Pauley of Hurricane; great-grandson, Trey Adkins; and great-granddaughter, Madison Adkins, also of Statesville, N.C.; and sister, Evelyn Tyree of Proctorville, Ohio.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, with the Rev. James McGehee officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Park.
Friends may call one hour prior to service at Allen Funeral Home.
