Joseph J. Arning age 60, died on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at the Sheldon Community memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ashton Friday, October 1, at 10:30 a.m. Father A. Loeffelholz officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
He was born on April 20, 1916 in Ashton. He attended St. Joseph's School there and farmed in the Ashton area all his life. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ashton.
He is survived by his parents, Ben and Emma Arning of Ashton; one sister, Mrs. Clara Honkomp of Ashton, and one nephew, John Honkomp of Sibley.
