Obituary.

Anthony Joseph Kiefer was born in Washington County, Iowa, April 15, 1868 and died at the Osteopathic Sanitarium, Blackwell, Oklahoma, January 8th, 1920 at 8:45 a.m., at the age of 51 years, 8 months and 24 days after a brief and severe illness at home. He was taken to the Sanitarium where after a thorough examination of doctors, they pronounced it cancer of the stomach and bowels. In such a form that it could not be reach by medical aid. At the age of 22 he came to Sumner county, Kansas and lived there until the opening of the Strip then located in Kay County where he resided until his death. He was married to Anna Agnes Tate, February 28, 1897 and to this union two children were born, Clara and Xavier, whose mother died September 6th, 1899. Then on February 13, 1901, he was married to Lizzie Elmira Goldbricht, to them were born one son, Orval. He was a devoted husband and father to his family and lived a true Christian life.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, George. And leaves to mourn his loss a wife and three children, Clara, Xavier and Orval of which are all at home. Also his mother, Four sisters and two brothers.
