TIOGA -- Mrs. Mary Ellen (Mollie) Myers, 83, a life long resident of Cooke County who moved to Tioga in 1948, died Tuesday at 4:20 p.m. in a Gainesville hospital after an illness of 12 days.

Born in Junction City, Mrs. Myers married George W. Myes March 13, 1898 in Cooke County. He died in 1906.

Mrs. Myers was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Tioga Methodist Church, Elder H. G. Ball, pastor of the Primitive Baptist Church of Tioga, will officiate. Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery northwest of Tioga under direction of Smith Funeral Home of Pilot Point.

Mrs. Myers was preceeded in death by her husband George W. Myers in 1908; and her only child, J.P. Myers in 1957.

Survivors include two sisters; Mrs. W. T. "Maude" Tipton of Tioga and Mrs. J. W. "Louisa" Baxter of Fredonia; two brothers Sam Williams of Gainesville and Bill Williams of Sanger; four grandchildren, Mrs. Roy "Iva" Carney of Mesquite, Miss Janie Myers and Billy J. Myers both of Fort Worth and Oren Eugene "Gene" Myers of Hurst; and five great grandchildren.
