Janet M. Waul, 68, of 12837 Sherrill Road, died peacefully at 10:13 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at home surrounded by family.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 5 p.m.
She was born on Jan. 11, 1940, in Dubuque, daughter of Albert and Margaret (Stoffel) Schueller. She was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Academy.
She married James J. Waul on April 8, 1961, at Holy Ghost Church.
Janet was employed as a buyer for Roshek's Department Store before her children were born. She was a full-time homemaker while the children were young.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish.
Janet enjoyed crocheting afghans, working puzzles, growing flowers and watching birds, orioles and hummingbirds. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family, especially her grandsons.
Surviving are her husband, James J. "Jim" Waul; a daughter, Joyce A. Waul, of Dubuque; two sons, James A. (Mary Kay) Waul, of Platteville, Wis., and John M. Waul, of Dubuque; two grandsons, Jaime and Tyler Waul; two sisters, Irene Hohnecker, of Dubuque, and Connie (Bill) Kelly, of Dubuque; a brother, Gerald (Carol) Schueller, of Dubuque; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Michael and Joseph, in infancy; and a brother, Daniel Schueller.
