Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, rural Lancaster, with Rev. Timothy Noah presiding. Special music was provided by Judy Kukowski and Kim Carlson. Casketbearers were Gerald Karol, Larry Olsonoski, Casey Graboski, Dana Gorski, Greg Wilson and Mark Nelson. Honorary casketbearers were Edward Gorski, Edward Olsonoski, Vincent Olsonoski, Ben Gorski, Carl Gorski and Stanley Kraska. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of the arrangements.
Florence Theresa Olsonoski was born on July 13, 1934 in Richardville township of Kittson county, the daughter of William and Verna (Graboski) Olsonoski. She grew up near Lancaster and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1952.
On September 28, 1957, she was united in marriage to John Gorski at Holy Rosary Catholic Church near Lancaster. The couple lived in Humboldt for a short time before moving to Lancaster in 1958. Florence and John farmed in Richardville township, and in 1983, Florence began working at the Kittson Memorial Nursing Home in Hallock.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and its ladies circle.
Florence is survived by her husband, John; one son, David of Lancaster; two daughters, Debra (Todd) Roach of East Grand Forks and Dianne (Allen) Anderson of Thief River Falls; six grandchildren; one brother, William (fiancee Kathy) Olsonoski of Rosemount; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Daniel who died on January 7, 1996.
