Dollie T. (Parshook) Chekanski, 73, of Ford City, formerly of Arnold, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Armstrong County Medical Center, Kittanning. She was born Oct. 24, 1934, in New Kensington, daughter of the late Archie and Marie Greshkevich Parshook, and had lived in Ford City since 1967.
She was a member of St. John Orthodox Church, New Kensington, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, gourmet cooking and time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, John Edward Chekanski; children, Michael Chekanski, of Egg Harbor, N.J., and Lisa Chekanski, of Ford City; 10 grandchildren; sister, Vera Scott, of Butler; and brother, Leon (Eleanor) Parshook, of Lower Burrell.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Parshook, and two sisters, Valentina Templin and Olympia Meander.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at RUSIEWICZ OF ARNOLD FUNERAL HOME, where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with the Very Rev. Paul R. Ziatyk officiating.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Arnold.
